29 Apr Plan for Change: Microsoft 365 Purview for Basic Mobility and Security
Starting on June 1, 2022, managing device security policies through Basic Mobility and Security is moving to the Microsoft 365 Purview compliance portal. The admin experience for this solution will be upgraded as part of this transition.
How this will affect your organization:
After this change, you will no longer be able to manage policies for Basic Mobility and Security through https://protection.office.com/devicev2 and instead will be automatically redirected to manage them in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. There is no impact to existing policies.
Note: You will still manage devices through Basic Mobility and Security in the Microsoft 365 admin center by navigating to https://admin.microsoft.com/adminportal/home?#/MifoDevices.
What you need to do to prepare:
Starting on June 1, a redirect will be in place that routes you to the Overview tab for Basic Mobility and Security in the new portal. Select Policies to manage your existing policies and to create new policies, similar to the current experience. Once the redirect is live, we recommend updating your bookmarks and internal guidance to point to the new experience (available June 1) in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal.
