29 May On-demand channels post translation in Teams iOS and Android
This release of on-demand channels post translation will allow users to translate channel posts that are in another language, into the language of their choice. This is rolling out on the Teams iOS and Android from the latest store builds.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 83399 and 63219.
When this will happen
We will begin rolling this out in early June and expect to complete rollout mid-July.
How this will affect your organization
End users will now be able to translate channel posts into their preferred language while on their Android and iOS devices.
To translate, press and hold the message and then tap Translate. To return a translated message to the original language, press and hold the message and then tap See original (language).
To set the language that you want messages translated to, tap Settings > Translation and then choose desired language.
The ability to translate messages will be on by default. To disable, follow these steps mentioned here.
What you need to do to prepare
You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
