28 Nov November 2020 Newsletter – Week 4
November 21 – Updated November 20, 2020: Microsoft has updated the roll out timeline below. Microsoft is updating the Meeting options to allow an organizer to manage participants ability to chat prior to, during and after a meeting.
November 17 – Updated November 17, 2020: To ensure the best possible experience for users, Microsoft is delaying some deployments to reduce the amount of change flowing into the services. Please see the updated roll-out timeline below. Microsoft is changing the storage for new Teams meeting recordings to be stored on, and served from, OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) – instead of Microsoft Stream (Classic). Customers are able to opt in, opt out, or take no action with regard to these changes. This change will apply to customers who either opt in or take no action following this announcement.
November 20 – Starting December 18, Microsoft is changing how 1:1 Call recording is enabled. Currently, 1:1 Call recording is controlled by the -CsTeamsMeetingPolicy / AllowCloudRecording attribute. Microsoft is now changing it so that 1:1 Call recording can be controlled by its own policy. This means that after December 18, 1:1 Call recording will be controlled by the -CsTeamsCallingPolicy / allowCloudRecordingForCalls attribute. By default this new policy attribute will be set to false, so 1:1 call recording will not work unless you change this attribute to true.
November 20 – Microsoft has improved the SharePoint tab experience to now allow pinning of document libraries, by selecting from the backing team site, or by providing a link to any other document library to which the user has access. Microsoft has also added a new “Recommended” section in the SharePoint tab to help user easily find the most relevant content from their site to pin in their channels.
November 19 – With this update, your users will be able to choose their preferred means of Teams notifications delivery, either via the Teams built-in notification system or via their native OS notification system.
November 17 – Updated November 17, 2020: Microsoft deployment timeline has changed. Please see the new timeline below. With this update, your users will be able to choose their preferred means of Teams notifications delivery, either via the Teams built-in notification system or via their native OS notification system.
