June 2021 Newsletter – Week 4

Today we are pleased to announce an all-new Microsoft Whiteboard: the Visual Collaborative Workspace in Microsoft 365, designed for hybrid work.

We are excited to announce the arrival of a new guided authoring experience in Lists that will make it easy to quickly create business intelligence reports in Power BI using your list schema and data.

This feature update will allow users to include their device audio when screen sharing on iPhones/iPads and Android devices. This is rolling out on Teams mobile.

This Microsoft Teams release will allow meetings to start recording automatically when they are set to auto-record in meeting options. This will benefit users who forget to hit the record button for crucial meetings. This is rolling out on desktop, mobile and web.

This new PowerPoint for the web feature release will provide access to PowerPoint Live in Teams and with just one click, will make it easier for presenters to present their presentations from PowerPoint directly to their remote meeting audience.

Until now, retention policies for Teams channel messages have excluded any private channel messages. With this new feature you will be able to apply retention policies to user messages shared within Teams private channels.

We are releasing an enhanced user experience for manual participant assignment…

We’re making some changes to Guest Access in Microsoft Teams settings. Currently, Microsoft Teams prevents guest collaboration in the guest tenant once the Allow Guest Access in Teams setting is set to OFF in the M365 Admin Center.

This new release will enable some Windows 10 users, who are using Outlook on the web or Outlook for Windows, to see a clickable recommendation to visit the browser extension page for Outlook in Edge where they can choose to install the extension. This notification will be displayed in any Windows browser (i.e., Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) and in Outlook for Windows.

Until this release, attempting to delete a file with a retention label configured to “retain items for a specific period” in SharePoint caused an error blocking the deletion of it.
