Microsoft is simplifying the calling experience in the Teams desktop app (Windows and Mac) by providing a streamlined view that combines contacts, voicemail, and calling history.

When organizing Teams meetings in Outlook for Windows for 40 or more participants or 10 or more distribution lists, Teams users will soon see a prompt to set meeting options.

Microsoft is introducing a new mail entity page, which is designed to provide a 360 degree view of an email during investigations.

In early November, DigiCert replaced the certificate of an Intermediate Certificate Authority (ICA) which issues SSL/TLS certificates used by Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) services, such as Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365, in the Public and US Government Clouds. In most cases, no action is required. However, if you explicitly hard code (i.e. “pin”) the ICA certificates to be trusted or have custom solutions that depend on storing ICA certificates in a trust store, you will need to take action as soon as possible in order to avoid service disruptions.

Microsoft is retiring Active Directory Rights Management Service (AD RMS) support in Exchange Online as of February 28, 2021. Moving forward, we recommend the utilization of Azure Rights Management Service (Azure RMS).

The Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center is built on Azure. The Azure team announced that the end of support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) admin access to the Admin Portal web app UI is on March 31, 2021. Therefore, as a reminder, Intune will move to end admin center support for IE 11 on March 31, 2021. Please move to Microsoft Edge or another supported browser at that time to administer any of your Microsoft services built on Azure.

Microsoft is clarifying how users access label policies and retention policies in Microsoft 365 compliance center.

Microsoft is introducing override alerts for Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 and Plan 2. These new system alert policies will enable security admins to receive alerts if a message with a high confidence phish or malware verdict is delivered to a mailbox due to one of the following overrides:

  • Phish delivered due to an IP allow policy
  • Phish delivered due to an ETR override.
  • Phish delivered because a user’s Junk Mail Folder is disabled.
  • Phish not zapped because ZAP is disabled.
  • Malware not zapped because ZAP is disabled.
