Updated December 11, 2020: Based on learnings from early rings, Microsoft has made the decision to make additional changes to the code before proceeding with the rollout. Microsoft will deliver a new Message center post once we re-start the rollout.
Microsoft is changing how 1:1 Call recording is enabled. Currently, 1:1 Call recording is controlled by the -CsTeamsMeetingPolicy / AllowCloudRecording attribute. Microsoft is now changing it so that 1:1 Call recording can be controlled by its own policy. This means that after December 18, 1:1 Call recording will be controlled by the -CsTeamsCallingPolicy / allowCloudRecordingForCalls attribute.
By default this new policy attribute will be set to false, so 1:1 call recording will not work unless you change this attribute to true.
Key Points:
- Timing: On hold and will communicate via Message center when ready to proceed.
- Control: via PowerShell
How this will affect your organization:
If you are currently using 1:1 Call recording and would like to continue doing so, please update the -CsTeamsCallingPolicy / allowCloudRecordingForCalls attribute to true. If you do not change the attribute, once the policy enforcement is rolled out, users using the 1:1 Call recording feature will not be able to use this feature.
What you need to do to prepare:
Review your policy settings for 1:1 Call recording and update the attribute for the experience you prefer. If you do not want to have 1:1 Call recording enabled, you do not need to do anything as the default value of the attribute will be false.
