12 Feb Azure AD joined Cloud PCs now supported for Windows 365 Enterprise
With the latest Windows 365 release, support for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) joined Cloud PCs will be available in public preview. You can now run Cloud PCs that are Azure AD joined. These devices can run in either a Microsoft hosted network or you can use your own network.
How does this affect me?
Rollout begins this week and is expected to be complete by mid-February. Once available on your tenant, your organization can utilize this feature in public preview. You have the option of choosing between a Microsoft hosted network or using your own. In addition, there are some noticeable changes in the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center Windows 365 interface.
- For a Microsoft hosted network, Azure infrastructure to provision Cloud PCs is not required, just your Azure AD users. When creating a provisioning policy, you will now see the additional join type Azure AD Join (Preview), under Join Details. In addition, under Network, the option to select Built in Network, Microsoft Hosted Network will be shown.
- When using your own network, Azure infrastructure is required to provision Cloud PCs. You will need to create a new Azure AD Join network connection with a new On-premises network connection (OPNC). When you create a new OPNC, you will have the option to select Azure AD Join (Preview) and no longer need to enter AD domain details.
