(Update) Teams meetings, end of meeting notification

Updated December 11, 2020: Microsoft is updating the rollout timeline below.

Microsoft will soon be alerting Teams meeting participants when there are five minutes remaining in a scheduled meeting. This is an informational notification and will not automatically end the meeting.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 67122.

When this will happen

• Microsoft will begin the rollout in late November (previously late October) and expect it to be complete in late December previously (early December).

How this will affect your organization

Once available in your tenant, Teams will inform participants when there are five minutes remaining during any scheduled private or channel meeting. The notification will appear on screen for 10 seconds and disappear without any user action. This is an informational notification and will not automatically end the meeting.

You might consider updating your end user training and documentation.

The notification cannot be configured or disabled in the admin portal.
